As well as cars, whether you want to borrow a van to move house or just transport a large, heavy item between households, we offer temporary van insurance, making the process much easier. Can you insure a car for weekends only?

Whether you are a student looking to borrow your parents’ car on a few weekends when they aren’t using it, or just want to split the driving with a friend, our weekend insurance is perfect. You can choose to take out up to a month’s worth of cover if you please, or, if you just need cover on Saturdays and Sundays you can arrange that too.

Weekend car insurance can be arranged easily and start within 15 minutes of procuring your cover. So even if you leave it to the last minute or need quick, emergency cover, it’s fast and simple to organise.

Whether you are visiting a friend or family member and want to borrow their car during the trip, or your usual vehicle is in the garage over the weekend, short-term car insurance means that you don’t need to tackle the arduous process of amending your annual insurance policy and the high prices that can entail. Simply pay for the cover you want and get driving in minutes.

Cover can be arranged and provide motor insurance for a regular or long weekend (or even up to 30 days if you need more time). Our policies are standalone, which means should you have an accident, your annual insurance policy and  No Claims Discount will be unaffected. Free legal expenses cover is included with all weekend car insurance as well. Plus, with all weekend car insurance underwritten by Aviva, the UK’s largest insurer, you know you’re in safe hands.

Should you be planning on a weekend abroad, European cover is an optional extra, along with additional drivers if you need to share the responsibility and breakdown cover. If your annual insurance policy doesn’t cover you for European road trips, then adding on our temporary insurance can mean you get the comprehensive cover you need without the annual price tag.
